Broken Product
Very disappointing reliability and poor after-sales support
I purchased the Shark SpeedStyle Pro 5-in-1 in July 2024. After just 12 months, it stopped working. Shark replaced it with a new unit in July 2025, which I would have expected to resolve the problem.
Unfortunately, the replacement has now broken as well — again after approximately 12 months.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that Shark’s warranty is calculated from the original purchase date, rather than providing a fresh warranty period for the replacement product. As a result, despite having received a replacement only just over a year ago, I have now been told that the product is no longer covered.
Shark have offered me a code for 30% off another product, but frankly, why would I want to spend more money on another Shark hairdryer when the last two have both lasted only around a year?
The product isn’t cheap, and I would expect significantly better reliability from a premium hair styling product. A 30% discount doesn’t really address the underlying issue — I need confidence that the product will actually last.
I have previously been a fan of Shark products, but this experience has seriously damaged my confidence in the brand. At this point, I would be reluctant to purchase another Shark SpeedStyle, even with the discount.
Two products, two failures after roughly a year. That’s simply not good enough for a product at this price point.

Powerful hairdryer
The actual hair dryer is good and powerful, the brush is difficult to use and should have a button to rotate rather than a manual turn as it is too difficult to use. The frizz tamer smoother thing is good but makes my hair feel dry and stiff. I have found that I am only using the hairdryer and reverting to my old cheaper tools to get the finish I want.
