Product Description

Improve the appearance of overall skin texture and visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles with Medik8's plant-based retinol (vitamin A) alternative.

Formulated with clinically proven but gentle 1.25% bakuchiol, Bakuchiol Peptides is the perfect age-defying serum for those who are unable to use retinol (e.g. when pregnant or nursing).

This calming and lightweight serum delivers a visibly plumper, smoother and youthful-looking complexion - with a more even texture and tone. Enhanced with another innovative stability system from Medik8, the formula remains effective and potent until the very last drop.

KEY BENEFITS
Targets Multiple Signs of Ageing
This lightweight serum can be used both day and night to effectively reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, texture, fine lines and wrinkles.

Pregnancy-Friendly, Age-Defying Results
Delivers powerful visible results akin to traditional vitamin A (retinol) formulas while being suitable for use during pregnancy/nursing.*

Calms Visible Redness
Calms and conditions the skin, helping to reduce any visible redness and inflammation.

NOTE
*Due to ethical considerations, Bakuchiol Peptides has not been tested on pregnant women. However, there is nothing in the formula which is known to cause any issues during pregnancy or nursing (e.g. vitamin A or high levels of exfoliating acids). If you are at all concerned, always consult your doctor before use.

KEY INGREDIENTS
Bakuchiol (1.25%)
A clinically proven retinol alternative, bakuchiol works by helping to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through supporting elastin and collagen production within the skin. Gentle but effective, it is suitable for those who aren't able to tolerate vitamin A.

Brightening Peptide Precursors
This amino acid effortlessly penetrates through the skin barrier, helping to prevent the production of melanin which triggers visible discolouration and dark spots. It therefore supports a visibly even and brighter skin tone.

Centella Asiatica
Also known as cica, this naturally-derived extract delivers potent anti-inflammatory properties for a visibly calmer and comfortable complexion.

Inka Omega Oil
An organic and rich source of natural omegas, it works to intensely replenish the skin's natural barrier while strengthening it against moisture loss.

Directions

After cleansing in the morning and evening, massage 6 drops across the face, neck and décolletage.

How to Layer Bakuchiol Peptides
AM: Apply Bakuchiol Peptides after cleansing and your vitamin C serum. Always follow with sunscreen.
PM: Apply Bakuchiol Peptides after cleansing and toning. Follow with moisturiser.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for combination or breakout-prone skin Unfortunately this caused a full breakout for me that will now take time to calm. I have successfully used oils in the past — including squalene listed in the ingredients — but this formula felt too heavy. I’m not sure if it was the oil base or the actives (bacuchiol), but my skin reacted badly. I’ll use the rest on my body and won’t repurchase. The product description doesn’t say “non-comedogenic,” so if you’re breakout-prone, I’d avoid this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely product A great alternative to retinol! Sometimes my skin needs a break from retinol, and this does the trick perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm literally amazed I tried this on a whim. . . . & OMG! The results are stunning! The texture is so smooth & sinks in so nicely. After applying at night, I wake to absolutely beautifully glowing & plump skin, with moisture that lasts all through the day. I cannot believe how good this is. The ingredients packed within this serum couldn't be better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My skin loves this so much I lapsed from using the (very good) Environs AVST retinol moisturisers about 3 years ago. Life was frantically hectic, suddenly dropped to a single income household etc and had to cut my cloth to support a family of 4 alone. I'd had some of this in the cupboard and hadn't initially warmed to it - too unlike anything I was used to, but then used it after I ran out of my (then) preference and pretty much everything else. I just wasn't used to using this texture of product. But now I can never go back!!! I just LOVE the way this is on my skin, I love that it never leaves me sensitised in the winter, I love that I can easily and comfortably layer it with other actives, I love that I can use it alone. And I honestly find it just as effective. I prefer it over my attempts to re-introduce various retinal, retinol, ret-anything by Medik8, Environ, The Ordinary, Geek and Gorgeous, Allies. . . End of 2023 and through '24 I tried a variety of things and price points, and yeah, I know skin needs to get used to things but I used everything up and just was a bit "meh" with everything else. And now I don't question it anymore. Between this, Medik8 vit C cream, even good old Aveeno if I've run out of the latter, Rodial Dragon Blood eye cream, and occasionally Medik8 Peptides Advanced, or the Allied of Skin one my skin just feels stable, content, happy and youthful. It's my favourite skincare product.
