my hair looks healthy and shiny when I use it
If you've read my review of the Chronologiste shampoo, you already know I have complicated feelings about spending this much on hair products. This mask costs even more. And I keep buying it. So take from that what you will.
The texture is dense and buttery, properly luxurious feeling stuff. It melts into the hair rather than sitting on top of it, which I've found is the difference between masks that actually penetrate and ones that just coat everything and rinse away without doing much. I apply it from mid-lengths to ends after shampooing, leave it five to ten minutes, and rinse. On days when my hair feels particularly rough I'll leave it closer to ten. There's no tingling or tightness on my scalp if a bit creeps up there, which is reassuring.
The scent matches the shampoo, that same expensive, lingering fragrance. Using both together means my hair smells incredible for a solid day and a half. I realise that sounds like a silly reason to love a product, but honestly it's half the experience.
Results wise, my hair comes out feeling like someone else's. Softer, smoother, with a weight to it that feels healthy rather than heavy. The frizz reduction is better than the Maskeratine from the Discipline range, though that one costs less so it depends what your budget allows. If frizz is your main issue, the Maskeratine does a solid job for less money. If you want frizz control plus that extra bit of shine and softness and you don't mind paying for it, this is the upgrade.
I waste less product with this than with cheaper masks because a little goes further than you'd expect.
The thing I keep coming back to is how my hair feels on days three and four after using this. That's where it earns its money. Most masks give you great day one hair and then it's back to normal by the next morning. With this, I'm still getting compliments on day three. My hair holds its shape longer, stays smoother longer, and generally just cooperates in a way it doesn't with anything else I've tried.
Do I think it's "youth revitalising"? I think my hair looks healthy and shiny when I use it. Whether that's youth or just good conditioning, I genuinely couldn't tell you and I doubt Kérastase could either. But healthy and shiny is what I wanted, and that's what I get, so the marketing language doesn't bother me much.
If you're already using Kérastase and wondering whether the Chronologiste range is worth the step up, it is. If you're currently using supermarket products and considering jumping straight to this, maybe start with the Discipline range first and work up. You might find you don't need to spend this much to be happy with your hair.

Fast and effective mask
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used hair masks in the past and always found that they take too long for me to continue using them long term. Having used this for the last few weeks now I have seen an improvement in my hair appearance and texture also. The fact that I only have to leave the mask on 5 minutes allows me to be able to use it quickly and not have to wait around. The combination of time and effectiveness for me is perfection, I haven’t used a mask so effective before and I think I would struggle to find one that would beat this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this like a conditioner for my hair. Smells lovely and only used a little bit of product. Has luxury feels to it and smells amazing. Only let the product penetrate my hair for 10 minutes then washed off but it left my hair feeling silky smooth. My hair felts more hydrated and moistured and restored after shampooing. Definitely a must have product for the hair

Not a fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Similar to my review on the shampoo , my hair feels such a strange texture after using the hair mask, while it’s thick and creamy and smells lovely it really didn’t leave my hair shiny and glossy like I imagined or similar to other products by the brand that I’ve b used. My hair is usually very thick but there are signs of aging and thinning, maybe after months of usage I’ll see some improvements there but it left my hair feeling very greasy and heavy

Shiny and revitalized hair

After washing my hair with the shampoo from the same line, I applied this hair mask and could feel my hair becoming smooth under my fingers and detangling immediately. It smells luxurious, just like the shampoo. After drying, my hair is significantly more nourished and shiny.

Favourite mask
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love Kerastase Chronologiste.
I was a little worried about using this mask because my hair is quite fine and can become limp and lifeless easily, but Kerastase is magic so I didn’t need to worry.
The mask is quite creamy in texture, but oddly enough it’s also quite lightweight, very spreadable, a little bit (maybe a teaspoon’s worth) coats my hair nicely. It makes my hair super soft, moisturised, but also bouncy, well conditioned, and overall fantastic looking with zero limpness of weigh down.
The product is quite strongly scented, and I personally love that. It smells expensive. It feels expensive. The packaging is super luxurious. And I am so, so glad that it works on my hair because using it is a whole experience.
It rinses out easily, doesn’t leave unpleasant residue - just lovely looking hair that then requires minimal styling. I just love it so much!
