Wonderful New Find ... Could Have Better Design
This was something I got with my Sephora points and I must say it was the best choice I ever made. I am a really big fan of Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee and Kayali Eden Juicy Apple. I have the big size, travel size, and travel set of Lychee and just a travel one of Juicy Apple. I honestly did not know what to expect with this perfume. The box was gorgeous as always. It was smoother, a different material of box. I liked it. I will say, it was just really difficult to open without ripping. Luckily I did it, but it was very difficult. The material, while pretty, and probably longer lasting, does catch on itself and make it harder to get the box flap to move up to open the top. So, while gorgeous, that is a half a point off from me. I see myself struggling with that from an accessibility standpoint. I often need to keep it in the box for travel purposes so, I feel like it is just going to be something I struggle to open. It was of course a beautiful bottle, as always. I adore the shape. And the colour was so pretty. It was very similar to other bottles, but I feel like it was slightly different. It is not clear. Which is fine, not a big deal. However, the diamond looking cap is very low quality compared to others. My other Kayali bottles of the same size have weighty caps, there is heft to them. They might even be glass, I am not sure. But if not, they are still weighty and carefully crafted and they satisfyingly click onto the top and stay secure on the top. This one was very cheap thin plastic feeling ... and it was very loose on the bottle. Like when I took it out it moved slightly and screeched from hitting the bottle (horrid sound). It is not satisfying and it doesn't feel as luxury as other caps from bottles at the same price point. Whether I got this with points or not, it is only fair to mention this because anyone might buy it thinking it is like the others and the design doesn't quite hit. It would have been better if the brand kept the same exact design and materials because everything else is amazing! The scent itself, I did not know what to expect like I said. I am pretty picky and I know what scents I like and this did not disappoint. On me, it smells like a strawberry marshmallow dessert. It smells SO good. It is probably my second favourite or possibly even favourite scent from this brand. I just do not know if I will buy it again ... if I did get this scent might check out the larger size to see the material. But, overall ... the scent and everything was great. I am delighted with this. I just am a little let down by the design choices for this one. The box feels luxury but is hard to open and might be best as regular cardboard like the other travel ones. The cap feels cheap and would be better being more of the luxury feel.
